He was predeceased by: his parents, Peg Thompson and Bud Thompson; and his brother Gregory Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Shawna Kropf (Matt), Amber Tietz (Jason), Kailey Thompson (Chris) and Steven Thompson (Martina); his grandchildren, Peyton, Abby, Everley, Jacob, Clara, Gwennie and Beckett; his parent-in-law Beverley Parlett (late George); his sibling Mary-Lou Linton (late Paul); his siblings-in-law, Margaret Mund (late Karl), Paul Shaughnessy (Jackie) and Ted Shaughnessy (Sylvia); and his pet Sadie. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
