He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Scholtes and Rosina (Penteker); his brother Dietmar; his siblings-in-law, Lenie Scholtes and Rudi Droefke; his sister Hildegard Lindschinger; his niece Ingrid Scholtes; Logan Droefke.
He is survived by: his wife Pieternella Scholtes; his sons, Matthias (Erika) and Marcus (Sharon); his grandchildren, Tristan and Lana; his sister Waldtraut Droefke of Walkerton; and his brothers-in-law, Werner Lindschinger (Marilyn) of Kitchener and Jack Bolle (Brenda) of Southampton.
