He was predeceased by: his wife Therese; his parents, Herbert Sommers and Mary Sommers; his siblings, Ethel Kehn, Joan Kropf (Art) and James "Jim" Sommers (Jeannette); his son-in-law David Stephenson; and his brother-in-law Russ Elmore.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Stephenson of Waterloo, Patricia Sommers (John Myckan) of Kitchener, Helen Rogers of Burlington, William Sommers (Christine) of Ottawa, Paul Sommers of Kitchener and Jeffrey Sommers (Robin) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Warren, Patrick, Zoe, Kasey, Christopher, Sarah, Owen, Hayley and Sydney; his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Anna, Alice and Clara; and his sister Margaret "Peggy" Elmore. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
