He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent O'Brien and Thelma Crough; his sister Carmel Simmons; and his nephew Jamie Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen (Moher); his children, Jeff (Ashley), Julie (Jake) and Steve (Chantal); his grandchildren, Charlotte, Austin and Sonny; his siblings, Roger (Chris), Terry (Patsy), Tim (Lenore), Wayne (Brenda), Donna (Dave Murphy), Rick (Donna), Sandra Preston, Yvonne and Mike; and his siblings-in-law, Karl Moher, Rosanne (Jim Rabishaw), Paul Moher (Mary Claire), Jim Moher and Yvonne (Mark Leahy).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Highland Park Funeral Centre (2510 Bensfort Rd, Peterborough, ON K9J 1C5). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (300 County Rd 8, Lakefield, ON K0L2H0).
In memory of Carl, donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Care Palliative Care Unit and Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by the family.
