He was predeceased by: his former wife Anita Sherin. He is survived by: his wife Blanche; his children, Joanne (Randy Shushkewich), Stephen, Rosemary and Barbara; his stepsons, Andrew Sanders, Dr. Hardy, Ginnie Friesen and Dr. Brendan Hughes; his grandsons, Christopher and Adrien; his stepson Michael Sanders (Trisha Atkinson); his granddaughter Ava; his great grandchild Sophia; his cousin Barbara Roblin; and his friends, Dr. Hardy Friesen and Dr. Lesley Preston (Edmonton).

Due to Covid-19 concerns, a Celebration of John's Life will be held at a later date.
