He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnett and Hazel (Bass); his brothers, Alvin, Claire and Lyle; his former wives, Beryl (Watt) and Diane (Rothery); his son Steven McCartney; and his wife Heather (Mather).

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Leonard (late Andy), Susan Norwood (Dave Kerr), Nancy and Terry (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Terry, Brandon, Adam, Lucas, Sierra, Karson and Bryce. He is also survived by his 8 great grandchildren.
