He was predeceased by: his former wife Simonne Cecilia Van De (Spriet); his parents, Victor VanDeWiele and Alida VanDeWiele (VanDaele); his daughter Rita; his grandson Nathaniel McLellan; and his in-laws, Celest Spriet, Gerard Demaiter, Roger Spriet, Lizette, Peter Lierman, John DeCloet and John Spriet.
He is survived by: his wife Veronica Vandewiel (Duden); his children, Lynne Duquette (Steve), JoAnne Van De (Mike), Richard Van De (Marleen) and Rose-Anne McLellan (Kent); his grandchildren, Laura, Andrew, Emily (Aaron), Alexandra Duquette, Michael Kimura, Celeste (Andrew), Christine (Evan), Alexander (Taylor), Jennifer Van De Wiele, Gabriel, Lucas, Noah, William, Bella McLellan and Heather Karolat; his sisters, Jean Donck (Jerome) and Elaine Armstrong (Boyd); and his in-laws, Rosa Demaiter, Andrew Spriet (Helen), Mary DeCloet, Rosalie Spriet and Doris Spriet. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial And (40 Queen St, Langton, ON N0E1G0). A prayer was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart R. C. Church (24 Albert St, Langton, ON N0E1G0). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart R. C. Cemetery (24 Albert St, Langton, ON N0E1G0).
