Jacquie Verhoeven wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Art, Sylvia, Bettina, Michael and family, We are so sorry for your loss. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. We will remember Anne with the sweetest smile, little wave and gentle person that she was. I like to call her my little apple dumpling doll with a beautiful spirit when referring to Anne. When Anne and Art would go for walks she would very often want to stop with Art on their way home and tell us about times before they moved to Canada and about Anne not knowing how to swim. As we spoke she always had that sweet smile and twinkle in her eyes. There were also days that she would sit out front while Art tended to the beautiful gardens they have and you could tell she was enjoying the fresh air and life around her and again she would wave and we would have a short chat about the flowers. From what we know of Anne, “grace was in all her steps, heaven in her eye, in every gesture, dignity and love.” (John Milton) We know that we cannot take your pain away but please if we can help in some way, we are next door, even if it is to check on you Art.
