He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Kay; his parents, Marjorie Kay and David Kay; his brothers, Bev Kay (Maureen) and Steven Kay (Linda); his brothers-in-law, Ken Gorrill and Murray McArrthur; and his nephews, Donny and Mike Gorrill.

He is survived by: his children, Colin Kay (Andrea) and Katrina Pardy (Jody); his grandchildren, James, Jaxon, Nickolas, Brock, Mason and McKenna; his sisters, Marlene Gorrill and Shirley McArthur; and his nephews, Laird (Alisa), Adam (Ashley), Mark and Scott.
