She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dora Tjart and Richard Monroe; her husband Dwayne Cecil Carter; her children, Paul Steel (Christine) of Cobourg, Suzanne Steel (Michel) of Collingwood and David Steel (Kim) of Ohio; her stepsons, Barry Carter, Brian Carter, Bradley Carter and Bobby Carter; her grandchildren, Devon, Cameron, Marshall, Allison, Paul, Robbie, Jamison and Brittany; her great grandchildren, Hailey, Bradley and Robert; and her stepsister Dawn Monroe.

She was a fierce protector of her family all her life, but she never failed to nurture her wild streak, and had been dreaming of and planning a post-covid cross country RV trip with Dwayne.
