She is survived by: her spouse Robert James Syme; her children, Kathryn Sharon Lacaria (Bruno) and Dianne Elizabeth Klett (Ron); her grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica, Reno and Nicholas; and her sibling Harold Hawkey (Bernice).
