He was predeceased by: his siblings, Betty McMullen and Bill Thurston; and his parents, Vernald Thurston and Eliza Thurston. He is survived by: his wife Anna Louise Thurston; his children, Joe Thurston (Mary), Janet VanderVeen (Dale), Jeff Thurston and June Thurston; and his grandchildren, Holly Leier (Brett), Daniel Thurston (Stephanie), Kendra Thurston (Jesse) and Graiden VanderVeen. He is also survived by many nieces nephews, extended family and friends.
