He was predeceased by: his brothers, Gerry and Tony; and his parents, Frank and Emily. He is survived by: his significant other Joan Simpson; his children, Kim Simpson (Eric), Brian Simpson (Adrienne), Kerri Daley (Mike) and Karen Spearing (Tim); his grandchildren, Jennifer Tempelman (Caleb), Zachary Tempelman (Alyssa), Bayley Simpson, Ryan Daley (Melissa) and Tyler Daley; and his siblings, Peggy (Graham) and Peter (Liz).

If desired, donations can be made to the Peterborough Regional Cancer Centre who so lovingly cared for him during his short battle with cancer.
