He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hynes and Gertrude Hynes; and his sisters, Madelyn McQuarrie (Bob), Thelma Forde (Ken) and Vitarelli (Lou).

He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his son Dan Canberra (Amanda Toohey); his grandchildren, Josh (Adam), Jessica (Daniel), Lauren Bell (Joe) and Margaret Vanderbyl (Jon); and his great grandchildren, Levi, Clinton Bell, Landon Vanderbyl and Avery Hynes (Josh).
