He was predeceased by: his wife Mabel Merkley; his parents, Florence Merkley and Leonard Merkley; and his siblings, Jean Simpson (Robert), Doris Tessmer (Don), Ruth Purvis (Wes) and Keith Merkley (Ruth).
He is survived by: his children, David (Valeria), Dale (Mary Louise) and Doug (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Sarah, Josh (Laura), Jamieson (Trentt), Mackenzie (Tyson), Madison, Lucas (Emma), Denver, Brooke, Chloe, Kylie, Ella and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Jones, Banks and Florence; Ryan and Joel Skornyak. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7).
