He was predeceased by : his wife Elizabeth Hinge; his parents, Olive and Leslie; and his siblings, Barbara and Wayne.

He is survived by : his children, Michael Hinge, Heather Hinge (Longmore) of Okotoks, Bryan Hinge and Grega Hinge (Soltys) of London; and his grandchildren, Allesandra and Marley.
