It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Albert Selmes on April 11th, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. He is now reunited with his parents Albert and Kathleen. Barry was the beloved husband of Nancy Selmes (nee Officer). Devoted father to Andrew and Melissa. Adored grandfather to Carissa and Irelyn. Barry was a proud big brother to Terry, Martin and Karen, and favourite uncle to many. He spent his life between England and Ontario. His passions were hockey, music and art. Barry had a green thumb and loved spending time in his garden watching his birds who he took great care of. He spent most of his career at Northern Telecom. Barry's greatest accomplishment was always his family. He will be forever missed. Cremation has taken place.

Although it has been many years since I’ve seen Barry, he left a lasting impression on me when in 1974 he sold me his 1969 Camaro that he bought brand new at Eastown Chev. That changed my life, and Barry’s desire to see me with the car is something I will never forget. He was a great guy with a great sense of humour.
