He was predeceased by: his grandson Walter Axford; and his sisters, Hazel VerHoeven and Cathleen Laurie. He is survived by: his wife Ann Watt (Phelps); his children, Cathleen, George Axford, Barbara, Tom Nelligan, Sharon and Tony Novotny; his grandchildren, Stuart Axford, Jamie Axford, Lindsey, Tom Cancilla, Alisha, John Harder, Travis Novotny, Rachael Nelligan and Bridget Nelligen; his great grandchildren, Deon, Kylie Harder, Olivia and Madison Cancilla; and his sister Wilma Main.
