She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Halpenny and John Halpenny; her parents-in-law, Jytte and Jens Thorup; and her brother-in-law Tom Tobin.

She is survived by: her husband Peter John Thorup; her sons, Marc Gregory Thorup, Steven John Thorup (Shane Monteith) and Gregory Paul Thorup (Lila Shania Wiseman); her siblings, Scott Halpenny and Jana Tobin; her sister-in-law Denise Halpenny; her siblings' children, Kendra Halpenny (Shane Cormier), Reid Halpenny (Lisa), Bryce Halpenny (Stephanie McIntosh), Jen Zurowski (Bryce) and Mike Tobin; and her cousins, Jane Cowan (Scott), Jackson McKiee, Barb Thornton and Kim Thomaes (Jack).
