He was predeceased by: his brother Willard Foster (Mora); his parents, Clare Foster and Eva Foster; and his parents-in-law, Percy and Margaret Gaskell.

He is survived by: his wife Wendy Carol Foster (Gaskell); his daughters, Debby Foster Sparks (Jeff) and Jacqui Foster Ostrom (Brian); his grandchildren, Emily, Allison, Benjamin and Erin; and his siblings, Keith Foster (Mary) and Mary Jean McDougall (Peter). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, former students, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
