He was predeceased by: his children, Shirley, Doug and Rick; and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his child Carolynne Hillman; his sibling Marion (Gordon Rutledge); his nephews, William Thyssen of Blyth, John Thyssen of Mitchell and Rick Thyssen of Brussels; and his niece Linda Oldridge of Blyth. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
