He was predeceased by: his former wife Bernice B. Haynes; his parents, Lyle and Lula; and his siblings, Malcolm, Lois, Bertha and Annabelle.

He is survived by: his children, Robert (Sanghun) and Patricia (John); his wife Elizabeth Archibald Carruthers; his stepchildren, Catherine and Christopher (Barbara); his grandchildren, Grace, Jackson, Jeremy, Austen and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Ruby and Hazel; his niece Catherine; and his nephews, Paul and Micheal.

Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the New St. James Presbyterian Church (280 Oxford St E, London, ON N6A1V4). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
