He is survived by: his wife Muriel Smithers; his children, Barbara Alexander (Mike), Gord Smithers (Munira) and Joanne Smithers; his stepchildren, Brenda Wastell (Keith), Bonnie Morgan (Dan) and Beverly Card; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Jesse and Josh.
