He was predeceased by: his parent Preciosa; and his siblings, Jose, Margarida, Preciosa and Olga.
He is survived by: his children, Goretty Dias (Gudmundur Johannesson), Nuno Dias (Catia), Jacinta Dias and Samuel Dias; his grandchildren, Aidan, Nuno, Marissa, Brandur, Michael, Francisca, Amilia, Adriana and Olivia; and his sister Maria Adelaide Coutinho of London. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
