He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Anne McDonald; his son Michael Stephen McDonald; and his parents, John A. MacDonald and Catherine MacDonald. He is survived by: his sons, John (Jerry) and Joseph (Wendy); his grandchildren, Ashley McDonald-Smith (Ryan) and Connor MacDonald; his great grandchildren, Amelia and Elowyn; and his sisters, Mary-Evelyn, Barbara, Joan, Francis, Sally and Peggy of Cape Breton.
