He was predeceased by: his sisters, Angel and Irma. He is survived by: his significant other Edith Merino; his children, Alonso Merino (Traci), Norma Merino (Stephen) and Dalma Merino (Wilfredo); his grandchild Maya Merino; and his siblings, Guillermo, Daniel, Milagros and Berta. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
