He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Anita O'Keefe; the fathers of children, Jason, Jordan (Margarita) and Cameron; his stepdaughter Aurora Bangarth (Pierre Lyons-Thomas); his grandfathers, Joe, Tayla, Kaiah, Denaly and Joseph; his sisters, Eleanor Marchant and Kathy Foyster (Paul); his parents, Carl and Ivadean; and his sister-in-law Michelle O'Keefe. He was also cherished by his cousins, nieces and nephews.
A donation as an expression of sympathy could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Elisabeth Nurses who quickly became like family and were so instrumental in supporting Joe's family in caring for him at home.
