He is survived by: his wife Wilhelmina Buesink; his sons, Rodney (Marietta Drost), David (Tina Plat) and Kenneth (Leona Vandervelde); his grandchildren, Simon, Elias (Sarah), Petra, Ardenn (Pieter), Bryce, Stacey and Melissa; and his siblings, Gremar (Case) and Anthony (Mary).

Visitation was held on Monday, February 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery (2001 Dundas St, London, ON N5V1P6). A memorial service was held on Monday, February 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial donations be made in his memory to The Alzheimer's Society Southwest Partners (alzswp.ca).

I remember that Mr DeKoter was a willing servant of the Lord and I trust that he is with the Lord now and no longer suffering in any way. I have good memories of him from growing up in the same church and my parents enjoying his friendship.”
