He is survived by: his spouse Joanne; his children, Christina Loyens (Gary McCurdy), Ed Adrian Smits, Maryann Berkmortel (Hubert), Marty Smits (Linda), Gary Smits (Lois), Debbie Lorch (Greg) and Tracy Voros (Steve); his close friend Minnie VanKessel; and his siblings, Marie, Wim and Chris.
