He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline Cooper; his child Bradley; his siblings, Edgar, Russell, Ken and Audrey (Harvey); and his parent Bertha Cooper.

He is survived by: his spouse Eileen Durkee-Cooper; his children, Curt (Anne), Blair (Clara) and Beth Olive (Keith); his grandchildren, Laura, Tom (Emily), Rachel, Adam (Jen), Leslie (Mike), Alexandria (Jessica), Rebecca and Miranda (Joel); his great grandchildren, Audrey, Owen and Emmett; his sisters-in-law, Helen and Anita (Gord); and his parent Oliver Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
