He was predeceased by: his wife Heather Armstrong (Wright); and his parents, Arthur Armstrong and Mary Armstrong (Scott). He is survived by: his children, Leslie Armstrong (David Gubbay) of Houston, TX and Sandy Armstrong (Tracey Babcock) of Fingal; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Cassie and Lexi.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Thomas Hospice of Elgin (613 Talbot St., St. Thomas) in memory of Murray.
