He was predeceased by: his spouse Marilou Shirley; his siblings, George Shirley and Vera Atkinson; and his brother-in-law Spencer Gourley. He is survived by: his children, Megan Madu (Bryan) of Vancouver and John Shirley (Cathy) of London; his grandchildren, Spencer, Liam, Conor and Ty; his sister Myra Bradley; and his parents-in-law, Ruth Gourley and John Gourley (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
