She was predeceased by: her parents, Patricia Leverton and Clarence Leverton; and her niece Judy Kishimoto. She is survived by: her brother George Leverton (Ruby); and her nieces and nephews, Brian Leverton (Shelley), Paul Leverton (Sharon), Linda Doan (Rick) and Susan Caloura (Claudio). She is also survived by cousins, great nieces and nephews.

“Shirley has been our friend for a long time. Recently, when I began using a walker in the neighbourhood, if Shirley happened to be outside I would detour across the street to chat with her. Those spontaneous conversations were about many topics but they always seemed to end with us dismissing our aches and pains with a laugh. This spring, I'll miss Shirley when I walk past her house. Marilyn will miss Shirley dropping by to say hello and to pick Rhubarb. Oh yes, her "Spys for pies" was nice too.”
