He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes and Antje; and his siblings, Case and Jeanette. He is survived by: his siblings, Maria (late Gabriel DeWaal) and Johannes (late Marianne); his wife Hendrika Hoefman of Waal's European Imports; his children, Marcus (Shawna), Michelle (Chris), Gina (Marcus) and Jaime (Luke); and his grandchildren, Thea, Gabriel van den Burg, Orla, Olsan Leigh, Athena, Juliann, Æneas Cassolato and Lars Raftis.
