He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Henry Appleton and Ellen Fogg. He is survived by: his wife Jenipher (Hammell); his sons, Tom (Sonja) and Andrew (Christa); his sister Kathleen Nichols; his nephew Ross Nichols; his grandchildren, Oscar, Thomas, Charlotte, George, Catherine, John and Evelyn; his niece Laura-May Culver; and his great-nephews, Lucas and Atticus Mason. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and many friends.

Tom Appleton left us to be at peace on May 16, 2025, following his journey with Alzheimer Dementia.
