He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Carolyn Kurek (Edward) of London, Cynthia Hunter (Darryl) of Meeting Creek and Catherine Billings (Ross) of Foothills, AB.; his grandchildren, Daniel Kurek (Melissa), Nicholas Kurek, Devon Hunter, Forrest Billings and Brody Hunter; his brother William; his sister-in-law Marilyn; his parents, Gabriel Smalko and Akesenia Smalko; his parents-in-law, John and Jennie Berkyto; his siblings, Andrew, Harry, Tony, Sally, Olga and Lena; and his brother-in-law Edward Berkyto.
