He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo and Margaret; and his siblings, Michael (Marianne) and Janis (Ronald Weldon). He is survived by: his wife Lenore Ruth (Bagshaw); and his children, Dr. Mary Pickering (Clayton), Colleen Hastings (Geoffrey), Noel (Nicole), Thomas, Leo Hastings, Rory, Patrick and Cedric Hogan. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home Ltd. (1666 Tottenham Rd, Tottenham, ON L0G1W0). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Mission (Achill) (2458 4th Line, Loretto, ON L0G1L0). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at the St. James Cemetery.
