He was predeceased by : his parents, Elizabeth and Roy. He is survived by : his wife Donna Sandy (McKendry); his sons, Sean (Maaike) and Derek (Hana); his grandson Liam; and his brothers, Malcolm (Terry) and Stuart (Laura). He is also survived by his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

“Dear Donna and family, my mother Violet Hamilton has asked me to send you her message of sympathy for the very sad and sudden loss of Ian. He looked so happy on the front of his Christmas card with Donna and his grandchild it was a joy to behold. Mum has many many happy memories of Ian starting when he was a little boy and she looked after him and his brothers when their mother (her sister Betty) was ill. She greatly enjoyed meeting up with him over the years when he and Donna visited the UK.”
