She was predeceased by : her parents, James Forbes and Ethel Forbes; her siblings, Percy, Isabel, Doris, Audrey and Gerald; and her son Ted.

She is survived by : her husband Joseph; her children, Joanne Dixon (Gord), Rick DeMarsh (Anne) and Tim DeMarsh (Lori); her grandchildren, Rebecca Ingersoll (Tayson), Bethany Gonyea (Noah), Krystin Shering (Sean), Josh DeMarsh, Graham Smith and Adam Smith; and her sister Marjorie Shorts (Edward).

Memorial donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Heart of Hastings Hospice.
