He was predeceased by: his wife Elsie; his children, Ted, Joanne Dixon (Gord), Rick DeMarsh (Anne) and Tim DeMarsh (Lori); his grandchildren, Joe, Rebecca Ingersoll (Tayson), Bethany Gonyea (Noah), Krystin Shering (Sean), Josh DeMarsh, Graham Smith and Adam Smith; his great grandchildren, Sydney and Russell; and his siblings, Alphonse, Bill, John, Frank, Loretta, Cecilia and Anne.
Memorial donations in memory of Joe may be made to Anchor of Hope Pregnancy & Family Care Centre in Madoc which was near and dear to his heart.
