Joseph left this world on September 22, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bernas and Catherine Bernas; his siblings, Walter Bernas (Phylis), Mary Kuckyt (Ross) and Helen Picton; and his in-laws, Ken and Charlotte Gavine.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Bernas; his children, Dean Bernas (Karen) and Pam Kreps (Harald); his grandchildren, Chelsea Porter (Dan), Cory Bernas, Taylor Kreps (Jay), Allyson Kreps and Rachel Kreps; and his siblings, Rosie Molnar (late Gord), Dora Dombek (late Frank), Agnes Drenth and James Bernas (Dianne). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and amazing friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Knox Presbyterian Church (124 Sparks St, Magnetawan, ON P0A1P0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM at the Club Service. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Knox Presbyterian Church (124 Sparks St, Magnetawan, ON P0A1P0).
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you please donate to a charity of your choice or one that Joe always supported such as the Magnetawan Presbyterian Church, Sick Kids Hospital or the Magnetawan Lions Club would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
