He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabella Smith and Wallace Alexander Smith; and his granddaughter Alexandra Smith. He is survived by: his children, Jeff (Karen) of Petawawa and Jennifer Smith of Toronto; his grandchildren, James Smith of Ottawa, Kristina Smith of Ottawa, Sarah Steadman of Toronto and Amanda Hatton of Hawkesbury; his great grandchildren, Katrina, Brian and Duncan; his brother Dr. Ronald Smith D. V. M. (Barbara) of Hamilton; and his nephews, Brent Smith of Hamilton and Brian Smith of Sundridge.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Irvine Memorial Chapel (2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON K0E1P0). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn Reception Centre (2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON K0E1P0). A burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens (2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON K0E1P0).

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated by the family.
