He is survived by: his son Tavis James Basford; his daughter-in-law Fatemah Alzubairi; his siblings, Barbara Verrill of Dudley and Christopher Basford of Cheadle, Cheshire.; his siblings' children, David, Robert, Helena and Catherine; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tobias, Florian, Mutsa, Shamiso, Kura and Zano.
