He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Benninger and Marie Benninger (Bauman); his former wife Joy; his daughter Christine (Francis Brekelmans) of Lakeside; his siblings, Elaine (Lorne) and Donald; and his brother-in-law Tom Wunder.
He is survived by: his spouse Jean Olesen; his daughter Jennifer (Bryan Smith) of Toronto; his grandchildren, Alexandra Dalkie (Stephan), Eric Smith, Danielle Olesen (Geoff), Ryan Olesen (Kaity) and Christopher Olesen (Hayley); and his sister Gloria Wunder.
