He was predeceased by : his parents, May Nicholls and William Nicholls; his stepson Brian; his son Jason Nicholls (Donna); his brother Bill; his grandson Adam Hill (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Regan, Cohen, Brock and Presley; his grandson Michael Hill (Tara); his great grandchildren, Cora, Wendel and Grayson; his grandchild Erin Hill-Thompson (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Kendal and Peyton; his grandson Mark Jr. Petch (Kaitlin); his great grandchildren, Scott and Samuel; his granddaughter Becky Petch (Justin Janveu); his great grandchild Porter; his grandsons, Patrick, Brian Petch, Jim Nicholls (Jannelle Watts) and Andrew Nicholls (Ingrid); his great grandchild Charlie Rose; his granddaughter Diana Nicholls (Kevan Clermont); his great grandchild Cole; and his grandchildren, Tyler McDonald Lourie, Benjamin Lourie and Duncan Lourie.

He is survived by : his wife Carrol Nicholls (Muir); his stepchildren, Ernie Jr. Nicholls (Kathy), Susan Hill (Wayne) and Pamela Petch (Mark Sr.); his child Selina Nicholls; his siblings, Wally (Pat), Tom (Dorothy) and Lorraine Hibert; and his sister-in-law Kay. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
