He was predeceased by : his wife Jean Irwin; his sons, Jack and Bruce; his brother Bill; and his siblings-in-law, Christina Rodman, Iva Mae Irwin, Margaret Freeman, Dorothy Funnell, Belle Buchanan, Shirley Irwin, Ted Funnell, Charlie Buchanan, Maurice Irwin, Harold Irwin, Alvin Mower and Everett Freeman.
He is survived by : his children, Patricia MacKinnon (Leslie) of Montague, P. E. I. and Rick (Theresa) of Minesing; his sister-in-law Marie Mower; his children, Cara, Gene, Rob, Chris, Stephen, Mike, Tristan, Rachelle, Mark, Kate, Grace and Sarah; and his great grandchildren, Curtis, Lily, Justin, Zak, Vanessa, Natalie, Alicia, Austin, Andrew, Faith, Chloe, Brianna, Josh, Janaye, Vannah, Gabrial and Alena.
