He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann and Hermine; and his son-in-law Greg. He is survived by: his wife Léa; his daughters, Nancy (late J. Greg Steffan) and Dawn; his grandchildren, Thomas and Mae; his brother Franz (Louisa); his nieces, Lisa and Joanna (Tony van Ham); and his great-nieces, Gloria and Molly of Calgary, AB..
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Dixion-Garland Funeral Home (166 Main Street N, Markham, ON L3P 1Y3). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church (345 Glad Park Ave, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON L4A1E4).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Margaret Bahen Hospice, or Diabetes Canada.
