As we bid Janice farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Janice is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She is survived by: her husband Gregory; her children, Jacqueline, Darcie and Robert; her grandson Ginkgo (the pug); her siblings, Susan and David Freeman; and her mother-in-law Jeanette Hagan. She is also survived by the nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Highland Funeral Home - Markham Chapel (10 Cachet Woods Ct, Markham, ON L6C3G1). A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to Pugalug Pug Rescue (our home has always been open to strays and rescues, and, during a challenging time, she found a lot of joy in her furry grandson).
