He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Merrick and Helen Merrick; and his parents-in-law, Doug and Edna Van Meer. He is survived by: his spouse Beth; his children, Melissa (Jason) and Jessica (David); his grandchildren, Amie, Ashley, Noah and Ella; his sibling Jim; and his siblings-in-law, Jim (Dee) and Don (Joy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
