He was predeceased by: his parents, Graziella Malandrino and Giovanni Spataro. He is survived by: his wife Santina (Moncada); his children, Giovanni (Sebastiana) and Maria Grazia (Ignazio); his granddaughter Mila Grace Anjeza; and his sisters, Corradina, Rosa (Carmelo), Giuseppina (Giovanni) and Sara (Luigi).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Salvatore's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's society and Canadian Cancer Society.
